Ushers
"...and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched." - 1 Samuel 10:26
The Ushers are God's public relations men and they represent the church to every new visitor. They are the extension of God's heart and hands. It is the responsibility of the usher to make the visitors feel welcomed and important. Everyone is greeted with the same love and warmth as the Pastor would himself. The Usher Ministry is only one of the strategic components within the supernatural Ministry of Helps within our local church. This ministry is ordained and anointed by God and consists of believers who are divinely set in the church with purpose and a servant's heart.
Our mission goes far beyond the traditional stereotype of ushering, mere bucket-passers and handshakers, to encompass greater and more meaningful responsibilities that can be categorized in the four specific areas:
- Assist the Pastor - We are to assist the Pastor and help him accomplish his goals and bring his vision for the church to fulfillment.
- Maintain Order - We are to maintain order and orchestrate movement during the service, prayer ministry lines and communion so that the Holy Spirit has freedom to move.
- Receive Offering - We make it possible for everyone to have the opportunity to worship God with their tithes and offerings.
- Meeting and Greeting - As mentioned before, we are God's public relations man and we represent the church to every new visitor. The first impression is a lasting impression. Ushers can make a difference in someone's life!
